CellarDoor
I watched the movie Donnie Darko yesterday for the first time. It was one of those move that always popped out at me in the store. It always popped up on recommended movies from Amazon but I always dismissed it as some artsy bullshit that was not worth watching. This is not that case! Donnie Darko is fucking awesome. As soon as I was done I watched all the deleted and extended scenes with and without commentary. I already have 7 fan sites about the movie bookmarked. I think I might be obsessed. A couple of parts really stand out to me. I loved Drew Barrymore and her CellarDoor scene. For those that don’t know what I am talking about, CellarDoor is supposed to be the most beautiful string of letters in the English language. They credit CellarDoor to Edgar Allan Poe in the commentary but J.R.R. Tolkien was the one to come up with it. Edgar Allan Poe used similar words like chamber door and lenore because they sounded so beautiful to the ear. The whole movie was good overall and highly recommend it. Later.

CellarDoor? maybe when you hear it but does it also apply for when you read it? cellardoor… it sounds beautiful in a way…
They are referring to the way it sounds. Yeah I don’t know if I really buy it. It sounds nice and all but I don’t know about the best. But note that it is supposed to be said with a southern accent so maybe that would help. I am from New England and I don’t really pronounce my r’s. Eh, it’s an opinion thing anyway. Later.
my r’s are all over the place…
