Cry Baby
I’m not sure as to why but I tear up often when I watch movies and it’s usually at the good moments, the moments when everything comes together or the protagonist succeeds in the end.
I just finished watching one of my favorite films, Newsies. If you haven’t seen this musical from 92’ then you really have to rent it. It’s about this group of kids who sell newspapers on the streets of New York in 1899 who get shafted by a reduction in pay. They form a union, go on strike, and get Theodore Roosevelt (mayor of New York at the time) to help them get rid of some of the corruption going on in NYC. Anyhow it’s a really inspiring movie and you should definitely check it out.
Ok so back to the part about my tearing up. I must have seen Newsies a million times but I still get all choked up when they first start to strike and even more so when the find themselves a printing press to create their own paper. It’s so bizarre because I never so much as bat an eye at the parts that you are supposed to cry about. I can see a million innocents get killed and old ladies beaten but it takes a group of hoodlum newspaper boys to start their own paper to get me going. Weird.
