Some blog stats
Posted by Seth on August 14, 2006 , 3 Comments
On this blog I average about 80 visits and 10,000 hits a day. Most of the hits come from image searches and hotlinked images I’ve placed on other sites.
I’ve written 244 posts including this one and have recieved 570 comments since starting this blog in June of 2004.
The only reason I keep this blog up is because I like getting comments and having a live site to test things out on my server.

For whatever it’s worth, I check out your blog for new postings just about every day.
The webalizer stats on my own blog claim that a lot of people visit but I suspect that most of those visits are webcrawlers or robots and not real people.
About the only way I ever know if any body actually reads this stuff is if they leave a comment.
Thanks for commenting John. Your comments are always appreciated. Have you heard about Google Analytics? It’s a Javascript based solution but will give you much more accurate results. You apply and wait to hear back but it only took a couple of weeks on their waiting list to get in. You can sign up at http://www.google.com/analytics/
Thanks for the tip about GA. I’ll ask my son Donald to check into it for me. He does all the computer stuff for my website and blog because
I’m scared to do any thing much beyond cut and paste on a computer for fear I’ll launch missles at Quebec — or destroy my own hard drive. I should see him next week.
Good luck with your new job. Hope you get a few days off between places.
