$water > $soda ?

Went to the theater today and noticed something sad. The smallest soft drink you could purchase was $4. The smallest bottle of water was $5.
How can sugary water cost more than water itself? Not to sound like a tin foil hat wearing weirdo but I’m almost feels like people want Americans to be fat. Maybe the government is looking to eat us? Hmmm.

well seth,
they need a market for all the corn syrup(See “King Corn”) and I’m pretty sure that all those fat diabetics also provide a wonderful market for the medical -pharm industry. And really they don’t want us out living our usefulness and clogging up the country.
p.s. i am one of those older an dazed looking individuals wandering around book stores.and i very much enjoy your speculations on the meanings of your observations. you are very original but i think you are awfully young to be so cynical. I’ totally agree with you for the most part but it took me over 50 years to get there, Aren’t you supposed to be enjoying life at your age ?
Just a thought,
