Yayy, let’s build a fence

Guess what? 1.2 billion dollars of all our money is getting thrown away on a fence between the US and Mexico. This has to be one of the most primitive ways of dealing with the situation. It’s like the government is filled with a bunch of children. If they really wanted to stop Mexicans from coming to America, they would remove the jobs available for them and crack down on asshole employers that hire illegal immigrants.

They claim that Americans will not do those jobs… what if they paid enough so that unskilled Americans would take the jobs?
No. Bad idea. That would cut into somebody’s profits.
The government is doing exactly what you suggest. Americans demand higher wages than the illegals will demand. As long as they can get here, illegals and employers will find one another. It’s simple market economics. So what’s your point? That we shouldn’t control our borders, or that we have no right to do so — even though Mexico is as we speak building precisely the same sort of fence along its southern border?
